This is my first entry into my activity log.  Today I’m participating (or trying to participate) in the ARRL 10 Meter contest.  WX conditions here in Colorado today: snowing and in the low 20′s.

I’ve worked three stations in Texas, two stations in California and one in Colorado during the 10 M contest. The 10 meter band has been up and down (mostly down) today.  However, when it’s up the stations I’m working are coming in 5×9.  The stations I’ve worked are as follows:

NX5M – Somerville, TX

W5PR – Houston, TX

K5TR – Austin, TX

W6YX – Stanford, CA

K6HNZ – Santa Cruz, CA

W0ETT – Parker, CO

I enjoy working contests.  I’ve not entered my results as my contacts for the few contests I’ve worked have only been a few.  However, I enjoy the contests and feel they have been a good test of both my equipment and most especially my antenna.  A few weeks ago during the CQ Worldwide DX Contest, I worked my first DX station in Brazil followed by another DX in Jamaica.  These were done on 10 meters.  I was excited to know I could reach those DX stations even as poor as the 10 meter band has been.
